Thanksgiving in Review

Thanksgiving yesterday was a great day. My parents, Tim, and Natalie all came over and my mom did almost all of the cooking (she's a good cook!)! She's probably going to make me take this picture down 'cause I caught her off-guard, but I'll give it a shot. Hi, Mama!

We put up the Christmas tree, and yes, it's a fake. We have enough allergies in our family and I really don't want to deal with pine needles. I said years ago it was sacrilege, but I succumbed to the allure of the fake. Thankfully we had my engineer dad here to help us figure out assembly - wasn't quite so straight-forward. :) In the meanwhile,  Cole liked being decorated as his own little tree:

And Dean, well, he's just cute. Especially with his Papa.

Oh yeah, the tree. Here it is!

We put up stockings, the whole nine yards. This is a big deal for us considering that we're usually not in our own home for Christmas, and so we usually skip home decorations. I'm excited for the boys to experience Christmas in their own home.

We ate food, of course, and there was a football game outside (I stayed in with a sleeping Dean). We watched Elf (love that movie!) and some of us caught a nap:

We finished off the night with some hilarious Jim Gaffigan skits. That man cracks me up.

I'm very thankful for a lot of things this year, most notably my family. We're going through some tough things right now, so if you think to pray about that, that would be great. I know, I seem to put everything in here, but there are some things that just aren't mine to share. I feel so blessed to have a tight-knit family who loves each other so much. I don't take this for granted at all.
