Well, we got Dean's sleep study back from Florida, and even though his oxygen sats sucked because he had a lung infection, his apnea is now considered insignificant!!! This is very exciting. We are going to decide about whether to do another one to confirm that his regular oxygen saturations are good, but our TWO pulse oximeters at home are showing us that Dean is doing GREAT at night (96 or above, usually more like 98-99!). Woohoo!! SO nice to drop an apnea diagnosis. At least that sleep study was good for something!

We are also going to start up with another SLP next week. Her name is Claudia and she lives right near us. We're going to watch her little boy, who is the same age as Emmett, in exchange for therapy. That deal is a no-brainer! Claudia has a lot of experience with apraxia, and we're hoping that adding a weekly session with her in addition to the speech services Dean gets through Children's will be a big help. I know it's going to be a long road still, but I am eager to hear Dean talk more. Obviously. :)

On another note, it's looking more and more like we're going to send Cole on to Kindergarten next year. He's finally interested in learning more about letter sounds, numbers, etc., and he's really "getting it." I knew he would, and working with him on it earlier just was like banging our heads against a wall. I didn't want to stress him out because I knew that he was still young, definitely is smart, and WOULD get it. But it's nice to see it all clicking now. There's still time until we have to register for K (or not) in April, but it's coming together for Cole and it's exciting to see HIM get pumped about his new skills. :)

And tomorrow night, Bob and I get to go on a date for the first time in well over a year! Actually, I can't even remember the last time we went out! Between having a baby who was nursing all the time, then finally started sleeping through the night right as Dean started needing oxygen all night long, we have been tied to the house. Our plans are to hunt down a great Indian restaurant - any local recommendations are welcome!
