Being Skinny Isn't Everything

For many, one of the highest marks of "success" in being healthy is being at a healthy weight, if not skinny. But being skinny isn't everything, because certain health conditions usually associated with obesity can affect people who are NOT overweight.

This phenomenon manifests particularly so in the PWS community, where people with PWS may be skinny or at a healthy weight in terms of appearance, but their insides tell a different story. With a tendency towards less lean muscle mass, many people with PWS have a higher-than-normal percentage of body fat - and then all the health conditions that tend to go with that.

Once again, this drives home the point that research pertaining to the PWS community, even as small as it is, has the potential to impact a much greater segment of the human population.
