And the Walls Came Tumbling Down...

And by "walls," I mean "wall," and it wasn't exactly Jericho. But a wall is down!

The guys arrived early to get started on the demo of the kitchen. Ironically, the builder's name is Bob and the construction foreman's name is Manuel, so we can say that we have Bob the Builder and Handy Manny working on our kitchen. :)

We tried to stay out of their hair, but it was difficult with three little kids on a rainy day. And MAN, was it was loud. So exciting to have a bunch of progress already! Here are some pictures:

Cabinets coming out...

Cabinets around the sink area out...

Working on the wall between the family room and the kitchen...

And then we went out for some Sweet Frog and came back... and the wall was down! The boys were all, "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOA." (And so were we, really :))

We're going for the increasingly popular fridge-in-the-family-room look. Hey, it'll do.

Man, can I say that I'm glad that Dean is not food-seeking right now, because stuff. is. everywhere. We have food on bookcases, on shelves, in closets, in the fridge (that's in the family room), in boxes, you name it. Emmett is having a harder time with it than Dean is. I'm very thankful that we're doing this now than later!

Old kitchen can be found in this location:

Day 1, complete. Only about 23 to go. :)

A friend sent the post about living while kitchenless from the Bower Power blog: http://www.bowerpowerblog.com/2012/12/survival-of-the-kitchenless/

This was really helpful, and we definitely know that we'll make it through the next 3-4 weeks. :) And by "make it," I mean without anyone having a nervous breakdown.

Hope you had a great day!
