Merry, Merry Christmas!!!

I don't know about you, but we had a fantastic day! The boys were up no earlier than usual, but I did hear Cole say, "Emmett... Dean... it's time to get up!" :) They had a great time opening presents and it seems that everything was a hit.

With three boys so close in age (41 months from start to finish!), they like a lot of the same things. So we got them a few gifts that were just for one particular kid, but then the two big gifts for all three were the sand/water table and the drum set. We also opened lots of gifts from generous family members. :)

And I know, a drum set - are we nuts? Maybe, but probably not for that reason. :) The amount of noise these boys make attests to the fact that they don't need a drum set to make a ruckus. So why not? Plus, it's fun to watch them explore and enjoy the music that is made through percussion. Dean in particular LOVED the drum set. Cole thinks he's a rock star. Emmett's content to do what Cole and Dean are doing, plus he was especially enamored with his Handy Manny-themed toys. Everyone wins.

My parents came over and we had a nice, relaxed dinner with them and opened more gifts. We watched Star Wars (IV) and after some fatigue-induced crankiness on the part of the boys, they went to bed. A good Christmas, indeed.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." - John 1:5

A baby - a little, helpless baby! - came into the world so that God could make a way for us to have a right relationship with him. He came so he would know what it felt and smelled and looked like to be human. He came because he loved us enough not to leave us here alone. He came.

Have you considered turning off the heat at your house completely?

You mean so Cole would wear a shirt to bed? :) No way. I think it's pretty cold in here at night, but Cole must be warm-blooded!

Looks like a wonderful Christmas! I cannot imagine buying a drum set. Good luck with that! :)
