Coming Home

As a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom, I love spending time with my kids, although I am quite exhausted by the end of the day (Ok, I'm exhausted by about 10am). I love when Bob comes home at the end of the day and we are a family once again. Cole in particular is SUCH a Daddy's Boy and he lights up like nothing else once his daddy is home. :) Dean now enthusiastically yells, "DA!" when Bob comes over to greet him and he grins from ear-to-ear. This is a typical greeting:

And a cute picture of Cole just because:
Yes, they were in PJs. We took a late afternoon bath and just decided to call it a day on the clothing front. :)

Tonight we went to the Session (elders) meeting at the church we go to here, Meadows Presbyterian. We are going to become members even though we have no idea how much longer we'll be in Charlottesville. This is bittersweet because Newton Presbyterian, our church in Boston, was really our family while our family was not nearby. We don't ever really *want* to give up membership there, but we have concerns here, too. We really want Dean and Emmett to be baptized and feel that we need to make the commitment to be able to be fully present in this church, no matter how long. Originally, Bob wanted to baptize Dean himself, but it could be awhile before he gets ordained to do so (I'm not going to explain all the ins and outs of ordination in the PC(USA). It's better that way :)). Technically, because of various ordination concerns, Bob is going to postpone his membership while he is under supervision of the Boston Presbytery. Again, if this is a foreign language to you, better not to ask. It'll make your head hurt. :)

My mind has had a few days to worry about (I'd say "think about," but I'd be dishonest - it's more like straight worrying) concerns with Emmett and wondering if he's ok. Oddly, the worrying isn't getting me anywhere. And then as if he heard my concerns (maybe he did!), Emmett was going berserk today. Watching my belly ripple around and getting surprised by all the (sometimes very powerful) kicks reminded me that this was not a weak baby. His muscle tone seems to be just fine! Hoping it's all going to settle out and we'll get to meet our little one in 11 weeks in an uneventful manner. :)

I just love it when Michael gets home too. K is at a "Daddy's Girl" stage & just goes berserk whenever she sees him. I can't believe E will arrive in 11 weeks - the time just flies!
