I'm not much of a reflective gal. I mean, I write reflective things sometimes, but I'm not really good at stopping and listening to the silence inside (what silence? And who has time to be silent anyway?). This year, however, I've paid more attention to what's going on in the Advent season at church. Last week we lit the candle of Hope, and this week the candle of Peace.

Don't know about you, but I'm in desperate need of peace these days. The time of year is nuts, we have a baby coming, there are other stressors all around and worries and what have you. Peace is hard to come by.

Well, except for that "it's always available" thing. See quote above. Or this (it is Jesus speaking):

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)

Jesus knew that this world itself can't give us peace. Too much craziness going on. Left to their own devices, our minds don't always seek peace. And yet it's there.

May you find peace.

Definitely something to think about. Especially this time of year.
